I just read a post from Coffee With Clark about the end of the semester and it really made me think not only about graduating but hopefully leaving something behind at UCO. I hope that when I graduate I will be proud of my education. Lots of people make fun of UCO but we really do succeed in many areas, just not ones that are as recognized by people. They are more likely to be impressed with a great medical school or engineering. But UCO has great nursing, teaching, accounting and journalism programs!
I can't wait to see how UCO grows!
And to be a proud Alumni!

Flowers.
I recently received a gift from a bridal shower, a small pot of flowers... and believe it or not, a dorm room is not the best environment for them to flourish. They are so pretty and I really want to keep them alive so I can have them in my apartment!
I move in next week, anyone have any tips on how to keep them alive and help them grow?

Snow Patrol
Snow patrol is a band from Ireland who released an album earlier this year after some time off!
I am a pretty loyal fan so I bought the album without previewing much of it and I am pretty happy with what they did on this album! This is one of my favorite songs they have on the album:

Although there are no lyrics, it stays true to their style as a band, much like the rest of the album! Which is why I am so happy with it, they aren't only trying to sell, they are trying to sell their style. That's cool.
Home Cookin'...... Almost
So Edmond just got a Chicken Express recently (for those of you who don't know what that is, its a delicious friend chicken, southern cookin' restaurant). There has been one in my hometown of Mustang, OK but that was the closest one I knew of.... until recently!
I made my first stop at the Edmond location last night and I am happy to say that it's just as good as the one in Mustang! Good, quick service and of course.... great friend chicken!

Another Great Jam!
Bon Iver's cover of "I Can't make You Love Me"
Doesn't matter if you're single, dating, engaged or married...
It's a wonderful song to listen to!
Making it work.
It's been a crazy semester with more changes in a week than I know what to do! But in the midst of all the change there is always something to be learned! Some of the things I have learned this semester are:
1. It's good to have a couple best friends, but when too many people are in your business it is harder to keep the private things private.
2. No matter how busy you are, make time to try something new or do something for yourself! (like yoga!!!)
3. Be open to change and go with the flow... When life is hectic all you can do is see what each day brings and learn from it.

Double Standard
Is it bad that I am excited about two things that are pretty much opposite?
- There is a Sunflower Farmers Market opening in Edmond on April 4th! This will be a great source for organic foods and give college students and the community a healthy option!

Making Memories
One of my best friends turned 21 recently and we went to McNellie's Pub to celebrate! She had never done a shot before and after a long debate and a friend to share the experience with her (yours truly) we both did a shot!
Made some great memories at an awesome pub with 350 types of beer, but don't worry.. they serve some good shots, and one on the house if it's your birthday!

| Album cover for Little Hell by City and Colour |
"So when we leave it'll be a quick midnight escape. We'll disconnect ourselves from all of yesterday. I'll dig for water and fashion our very own wishing well. Then, we'll throw our coins down hoping to rid us of this little hell."

Change.
By definition, change means: The act or instance of making or becoming different.
I am not a fan of change, at least when it's out of my control. But even when I am the one deciding to make a change, to make something different I still get nervous. And I would assume that a lot of people do, but I have resolved to embrace change to the best of my ability. To not be afraid of messing up or disappointing someone because of a choice I make for myself. The only way I will learn is if I start to make decisions for me, and not just to please everyone else.

So here I go, embracing change and learning to be okay in the moment, because today has enough trouble and adventure of its own!

A New February 15th Tradition!
![]() |
| 11 Boxes of Chocolate with 119 pieces, 3 candy bars, 1 card, 1 Fundip, 2 lip balms and a Spongebob candy shish kebab. |
Me and my friend Stacey decided that we would go on a hunt to get gourmet chocolate the day after Valentine's hoping it would be on sale... we were right! We went to Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Target in Edmond and found some awesome deals! So many things were half price and some things were even marked as low as 50 cents! Here is the break down!
Original price: $63.71
We paid a total of: $37.94
Individually spent: $18.97
Overall we had a great time, we met some older ladies who were doing the same thing as we were, we told them where to find the good deals and joked with them. It was a odd sense of camaraderie we had with them, all for the sake of buying cheap chocolate!
We both agreed that this had to be a new tradition and that next year we would have more of our friends join us! And try the same trick after other Holidays! (except Thanksgiving, no Black Friday shopping please!)
Better watch out chocolate bunnies... we're coming for ya!!
Okie Funk Has Got Me Thinking...
The writer of the well known blog Okie Funk Kurt Hochenauer came to my class and spoke with us about his blog; the good, the bad and some of the ugly of being a highly involved blogger.
One of the main things that got me thinking was that his blog is a liberal blog and that was one of the reasons his blog stood out so much...
Which got me thinking... am I Liberal or Conservative? Or somewhere in between?
This question got me on a search for unbiased information.... Which is hard to find... I resolved to just go to each sides site to see what each side really feels.. these are what I found!
www.conservative.org and www.addictinginfo.org
After looking around on them I'm still not sure where I stand, but if I had to guess I'd say I'm Moderate.
I'm glad Kurt came to our class because not only did he encourage us, but after hearing him talk I realized how important it is to say what you think is true and go with it... even when it's opposed.

Lyrics for the day.
Truth.
The truth hurts sometimes...
It hurts the most when we didn't realize something was true and we're told it is.
Painful truth is pretty unexpected, but if you think about those times in your life,
those are the times we learn the most about who we truly are.
Because the truth giver may hurt us by telling the truth, the truth may hurt us.
But in the middle of that pain,
we dig somewhere inside ourselves and learn about who we are by how we react.
So like I said, the truth hurts sometimes, but at the end of it...
we learn to grow.

Like Clockwork, We Begin...
![]() |
| Album cover for Storyboards, by Sleeping At Last |
We chase what we're denied.
As generations wait,
We can't resist the taste of possibility.
Gears turn, endlessly,
To bring us back to life again.
Like clockwork, we begin."
To bring us back to life again.
Like clockwork, we begin."
(Lyrics from Clockwork by Sleeping At Last)
It makes you think doesn't it? We're always chasing something, a desire, to achieve a goal, we seek a way to get what we want because there is a part of us that "can't resist the taste of possibility." In a way these lyrics make me feel hopeful, because it's like we are all waiting to chase our dreams.... But maybe what we should be thinking is:
What is holding us back from chasing our dreams now?

Room for Improvement?
While reading kisswebmaster.com, there were two things that really stuck out to me on how to make my blog better and more interactive!
- Subscribe to other blogs that relate to mine or that are interesting. A good source is blogcatalog.com
- Ask question at the end of my post, I have opinions and so do my readers! I want to know what you think!
I want people to feel like they can contribute to my blog, everyone has emotions and feelings so this is the place where they can be talked about! I think even by asking a rhetorical question that it will prompt people to think about the post or even respond.
I need to find a way to turn thoughts into thought provoking questions.
